Your Fortune Journey
Hair loss from treatment is not the same as wanting a change of style. This page is for the first kind.
We're not going to tell you we understand. Everyone who has walked into our salon for this reason has needed something different — different timing, different amount of talking, different everything. What we can tell you is exactly what happens here, what it costs, and what you're allowed to change your mind about.
We've sat with a lot of people through this. Not one of them has needed the same thing.
What actually happens
You get in touch.
Email, phone, or the form below. You don't have to explain anything you don't want to.
We talk — video or in person.
About forty-five minutes. Your camera can stay off. Bring someone if you’d like.
We match.
Send a photo of your hair from before, if you have one. If you don't, that's also fine, and common.
It arrives, or you come in.
We'll fit and adjust it. Adjustments during the first ten days are usually free.
Three ways to do this

In her words
If you'd like to leave something, you can. It stays anonymous unless you tell us otherwise.
Questions
Will my insurance cover it?
Sometimes, in part. It depends entirely on your plan. What helps is asking for it by the right name. What to ask your insurer
What is it called on a claim?
A cranial hair prosthesis, or a hair replacement unit. Not “a wig.” Your doctor can write a prescription using that wording.
When should I come — before, during, or after treatment?
There's no right time. Coming before means we can match your own colour and density from life rather than a photo. Coming later is equally common. Neither is better.
What if I've already lost it and don't have a photo?
That's very common. We'll work from what you remember, or from anything you like the look of.
My scalp is sore and sensitive.
Tell us. Cap construction changes what sits against your skin, and there are gentler options. This is worth saying out loud at the consultation.
Do I have to take anything off in front of anyone?
No. Not on a video call, not in the salon, not at any point unless you choose to.
Can someone come with me?
Yes. Most people do.
How long does it last?
Depends on the piece and how often it's worn. We'll be straight with you about what to expect rather than quoting a best case.
What if it isn't right when it arrives?
See below — the ten day guarantee, and what it does and doesn’t cover.
What if I don't know what I want?
Then that's what the call is for. You don't need to arrive with a plan.
If your question isn’t here, ask us. We’d rather say “we don’t know” than guess.

No obligation, no charge, and nothing gets sent to you afterwards unless you ask. If you'd rather call: 917-563-4851.
What we can promise
Ten days
Ten Day Money Back Guarantee
If it's unworn and unaltered, send it back within ten days of delivery for a full refund. Your first return is free. Pieces we've cut or styled for you can be exchanged in that window. Outlet and Pre-Owned pieces are final sale.
Consultations
Always free
Online or in either salon. Talk to us as many times as you need to before you decide anything.
Repairs
Done in our own salon
Repairs, restyles and refits are done by our stylists, not sent out. Small adjustments in the first ten days are usually free.
Pre-Owned
Your money isn't gone
If it’s no longer right for you, consign it back. When it sells you take 40% in cash or 80% in store credit.
If cost is what’s stopping you
There’s no reason to spend more than you need to. Both of these are the same hair, at a different price.
One thing to know before you shop these: Outlet and Pre-Owned pieces are final sale — the ten day guarantee doesn’t apply to them. If you’re not sure yet, buy from the main collection first, or talk to us and we’ll tell you honestly which is the better bet for you.
However you got here, we’re glad you did. Take as long as you need.
