Return policy
You can return any piece within 10 days of receiving it. Shipping time in either direction doesn't count toward the 10 days. This applies to every product, including sale, coupon, Outlet and Fortune Pre-Owned pieces. The piece must be in its original received condition, unworn and unaltered, with tags attached, and original shipping isn't refundable. The one exception: once we've done work on a piece — cut, styled or colored — it can't be refunded, but we're happy to adjust the style where we can. There is no restocking fee. Before you decide
The piece, in depth
How it is built. The top is worked by hand so the part looks like scalp rather than a seam. A silk top hides the knots under a fine layer, and a lace top sits flatter and gives you a part you can move. The rest of the cap is wefted for airflow, so it stays light through a full day.
How it falls. Our lengths are true: every strand measures the full stated length from the point where it's sewn into the cap. Hair is sewn in all over the cap, from the crown down to the nape, so the strands end at different points — that's what gives the wig its natural layers. That is why a wig always falls longer than its number: on an 18-inch wig, measured from the top of the head, the shortest layers fall at about 18 inches and the longest can reach about 24 inches. Shorter lengths hold body near the face, longer lengths carry weight and hang straighter. If you are deciding between two, the longer one can always be cut down — the reverse is not true.
How it sits. Cap sizes run small, medium and large, with adjustable straps for the final quarter-inch. It should feel secure with no pressure at the temples. A piece that grips is a size too small, and a piece that shifts when you turn your head is a size too big.
Color. Every shade on this page is photographed on real hair in natural light. Rooted and highlighted shades move in daylight the way grown hair does, which is what keeps them from looking flat.
Washing. How often you wash depends on how you wear it. If you wear it once or twice a week, every three months is usually plenty. If you wear it every day, plan on about every six weeks — sooner if it feels heavy with product or stops smelling fresh.
How to wash it. Never soak it. Brush it out while it's dry, starting at the ends. Hold it by the cap under cool to lukewarm running water, from the top down to the ends. Smooth a sulfate-free shampoo downward — no rubbing — and rinse until the water runs clear. Put conditioner on the ends only, never on the top or the knots, and rinse the same way.
Drying and heat. Press the water out with a towel — never wring it. Dry it on a wig stand, or blow-dry on medium, pointing down. When you do use heat, keep it moderate and always use a protectant: human hair cannot repair itself the way growing hair does, so heat damage is permanent.
Brushing. Brush only when it's dry. Start at the ends and work upward with a loop or soft-bristle brush, holding the hair above where you are brushing so you are not pulling at the knots. When it's wet, use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb.
Storage and sleep. Store on a stand or in its box so the cap keeps its shape — never folded in a drawer. Do not sleep in it if you can avoid it; if you must, loosely braid it first.
When to bring it in. If the part starts to widen, the hair feels dry at the ends no matter what you do, or the cap has loosened, that is the moment to call us rather than wait. Most of what we see is easy to correct early and expensive to correct late.
